October 6, 2021

The 24th International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering Languages and Systems (MODELS) 2021 will be organized between 10-15th October. IncQuery Labs has been an active participant in the conference in recent years. In 2020, our colleagues gave presentations and workshops on various topics. IncQuery Labs’ research experts, in collaboration with colleagues from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), were also awarded the Most Influential Paper Award of the MODELS 2020.

This year, IncQuery Labs will be an active participant at MODELS 2021 as well. Our colleagues will represent the company in many different sessions and sectors. Benedek Horváth, our junior researcher, will introduce his latest results about model-driven engineering and low-code development platforms. Gábor Bergmann, our senior researcher, will talk about his latest academic work published in the SoSyM international journal. Dániel Varró, one of the co-founders of IncQuery Labs, who currently participates in the company as an external research expert, will be chairing multiple sessions. Finally, István Ráth, our CEO, will discuss industry challenges and practical solutions at the Industry Days track.

Check out the complete list of IncQuery Labs’ presentations and workshops here:

Benedek Horváth will present the joint paper by Alessandro Colantoni, Benedek Horváth, Ákos Horváth, Luca Berardinelli and Manuel Wimmer at the DevOps at MODELS Workshop on 11th October. The paper is titled “Towards Continuous Consistency Checking of DevOps Artefacts”.

At the LowCode Workshop at MODELS 2021 on 12th October, Benedek Horváth will present the results of another Lowcomote collaboration: “Towards Scalable Validation of Low-Code System Models: Mapping EVL to VIATRA Patterns”. The authors of this paper are Qurat Ul Ain Ali, Benedek Horváth, Dimitris Kolovos, Konstantinos Barmpis and Ákos Horváth.

On 12th October, István Ráth, joined by Enrique Krajmalnik from Zuken, will present at the Industry Days of MODELS. Their talk - "The Genesis of Holistic Systems Engineering: Completeness and Consistency Management of the Digital Thread" – will focus on the current challenges of systems engineering in the new era of digitalization. To overcome these, they will propose a much-needed paradigm shift and introduce a novel, holistic approach. The conceptual framework of said concept is the combination of lightweight bridge tools, such as the E3.GENESYS Connector from Zuken, and digital thread analytics powered by our flagship product, the IncQuery Suite.

Gábor Bergmann will present his paper “Controllable and Decomposable Multidirectional Synchronizations,” published in the Software and Systems Modeling (SoSyM) International Journal. In this work, Gábor dealt with the challenge of data transfer between closed proprietary silos. Data extraction from these closed ecosystems is a common challenge that systems engineers face. However, synchronizing data shared between multiple silos is even more challenging. The talk will explore the theoretical boundaries that the involvement of more than two silos or engineering tools would establish. Join the presentation on 14th October on the Model Management and Model Transformations session.

Dániel Varró has also co-authored several papers that will be presented at MODELS 2021. These are the following: "Predictions-on-Chip: Model-based Training and Automated Deployment of Machine Learning Models at Runtime", "Scaling the Development and Automating the Validation of Autonomous Systems Towards Safe Deployment in Real World", "Automated Generation of Consistent, Diverse and Structurally Realistic Graph Models".
